This understated cultivar was bred for the cut flower industry, but makes a fine garden perennial. Astrantia major ‘Star Of Billion’ produces upright stems of pincushion flowers from June to August. The flowers open pale green, slowly blushing pink before aging to paper white. As a cut flower they have a long vase life bringing plenty of charm to summer bouquets. This hardy herbaceous plant forms a spreading clump of dark green, palmate foliage that creates superb texture at the front of perennial borders. Height: 90cm (35”). Spread: 45cm (18”).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
